Stuctural analysis of a five-floor 'eklecticistic' rythm building in Thessaloniki

The project refers to the reinforcement of a five-floor preserved building in Thessaloniki. The building was constructed to the 1920 's and its a characteristic sample of architecture of that era. Reinforced concrete columns to the center of the building plan while brick and stone wall to the perimeter are its structural elements. ETABS finite element software was used for the structural analysis. FRP's technics for the reinforcement of beams and plates and gunite memvrane for the reinforcement of the columns were chosen. The architectural restoration proposal (some drawings of which are presented here) was provided by the architectural office Savvas Tselepidis in Thessaloniki.
